The Look has a strong relationship with the team at Netflix, having delivered multiple 4K shows to them. The Innocents was the first European Netflix Original series to be Dolby Vision from its outset, and it was successfully delivered in August 2018. Other Netflix series include Top Boy 3, Sex Education, Requiem and Lovesick.
New Pictures are based in our building, and we have worked with them on Requiem for BBC and Netflix, and The Innocents, exclusively for Netflix.
We have worked closely with the team at Amazon since our HDR work on the first season of Fleabag. This series was in fact the first HDR job to deliver in to Amazon from the UK. Fleabag 2 is also in HDR and we’ll be using a Dolby Vision workflow to master it.
The BBC has been our biggest client since our work on Desperate Romantics in 2008. Since then we have posted Criminal Justice 2, South Riding, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Fades, Last Tango in Halifax, Quirke, Fleabag, Trust Me, Requiem, Gunpowder, Little Women and Hard Sun.
Clerkenwell Films are a longstanding client of The Look. Dramas have included Lovesick, The Nightmare Worlds of HG Wells, End of the F**king World and The Aliens.
Some of the most dynamic dramas we have posted have been via the drama team at Channel 4. These started with Dead Set in 2008, and then onwards with Top Boy, The Aliens, Gap Year and Loaded.
Although based in Manchester we’ve had a long standing relationship with Red. Series have included BAFTA winning Last Tango in Halifax, as well as Trust Me.
Top Boy was a major series for The Look, and propelled us to being recognised as a leading creative post production company back in 2010. We have handled all three seasons of Top Boy on behalf of our friends at Cowboy Films.
We have delivered a number of dramas to ITV, including Accused season 2, The Halcyon, Jericho, Whitechapel and most recently Butterfly.
Our first drama for Sky was The Nightmare Worlds of HG Wells via Clerkenwell Films, but most recently we handled picture post on Bounty Hunters series 2, all in 4K HDR on behalf of Tiger Aspect.
We have collaborated with Isaac Julien CBE on a number of his video installations, the most ambitious being his 7 screen, 70min work in both 4K and HD, ‘Playtime’. We have subsequently graded and posted ‘Stones Against Diamonds’, and restored two of his older projects, Franz Fanon and True North, in 2K, and from the negative. We are starting work on a major new project with him later in 2018.
We worked with Eleven Film on Gap Year through our strong relationship with Director Jonathan van Tulleken. In August 2018 we began work on Sex Education, a Netflix original drama series in 4K Dolby Vision HDR
